Grabbit Entertainment (“Grabbit”, “we”, “us”, “ours”) understands how important privacy is to you and we are committed to honouring that.
The Privacy Policy applies to the Twisted Tales mobile applications (“Apps”). The Grabbit Entertainment website and other mobile applications are governed by different privacy policies, which you can read on www.grabbit.nz and within the relevant apps.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and process your data within the five Twisted Tales series (including Twisted Cinderella, Twisted Alice, Twisted Jungle Book, Twisted Dracula, and Twisted Sherlock Holmes). It details your privacy rights and how you can get in touch with us regarding your data.
Grabbit Entertainment is a company registered at 18 Liverpool Street, Epsom, 1023, Auckland, New Zealand. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and any relevant local legislation, we are the Data Controller of your data.
By downloading the apps, you agree to the contents of this Privacy Policy and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions set forth here: [insert link].
1. What Information We Collect
We collect personal information and usage information when a parent (“Parent”, “You”) downloads and uses the Apps. This data includes:
- Activity Data: we collect information about how you use the Apps, such as time spent on stories or features used for our internal product improvement purposes. We collect your IP address, but do not collect any geolocation data (such as specific cities or postcodes).
- Device Data: We may collect information from your device(s) or from the app store through which you downloaded the Twisted Tales Apps. This may include information about the device(s) used to access the Apps (e.g. device type, model, manufacturer, and operating system).
- Analytics Data: We collect analytics data to help us measure traffic and usage trends, such as the ads, website, or other sources you clicked on to find our Apps.
We do not collect any information that directly identifies you, such as names, addresses, credit cards, or other sensitive personal information. We collect different unique identifiers that identify a device, browser, or Application, such as IDFV (identifiers for vendors in Apple devices) and Android ID (in Android devices). We understand that in certain countries these may be considered personal data, and therefore, where possible, they will be treated as such.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain and develop our Apps, including technical troubleshooting.
- Understand and analyse the usage trends, behaviours and preferences of our users within our Apps, to improve the way they work, and to develop new features and functionality.
- Maintain, develop, support and improve our Apps and our other products offered by us.
3. How we share or transfer data to others
- Vendors and service providers: we may share information with trusted vendors, third-party service providers.

- Other: We may disclose personal information if we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof; (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Grabbit Entertainment, our users or the public; or (e) as required or permitted by law.
4. Data subjects’ rights and data retention
The laws of certain jurisdictions may provide you with certain rights toward your data, including:
- The right to withdraw any previously provided consent;
- The right to access certain information about you that we process;
- The right to have us correct or update any Personal Information;
- The right to have certain information erased;
- The right to have us temporarily block our processing of certain information;
- The right to have information exported into common machine-readable format;
- The right to object to our processing of Information in cases of direct marketing, or when we rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis to process your information; and
- The right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority.

Some of these rights may be limited in certain circumstances as provided by applicable law. In some cases, we may refuse a request to exercise particular rights if complying with it means that we are no longer able to meet our contractual obligation to provide you with particular products and services. We may also retain information that has been de-identified or disassociated with personal identifiers such that it can no longer be used to reasonably identify a particular individual. We will keep you informed as to the actions that we can take when you make your request.

5. Data Security and Retention
Your privacy is our priority. Grabbit has implemented technical safeguards it believes are appropriate to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your personal data. However, no system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. If any information under our control is compromised because of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and notify you in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
6. Cross Border Data Transfers
Our Apps are operated and managed on servers located across the world. If you use our Apps from the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use, please be assured that Grabbit continues to comply with all applicable laws in respect of such transfers.
7. Children using the app
Our app is intended to be used by children under 13 only with the consent and oversight of a parent or legal guardian. An adult with a verified email address must download the Apps before permitting a child to use the Apps. We collect technical identifiers (IDFV and Ad ID) which is unique to a device. This is collected to support our own analytics and advertising efforts. We do not knowingly collect or solicit other Personally Identifiable Information about anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to send any personal data to us.
However, please contact us at contact@grabbit.nz if you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without consent from a parent or guardian so that we may delete the information as soon as possible.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the revised Privacy Policy with an updated date of revision. If we change this Policy in a material manner, we will do our best to notify you of the changes by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the App following the effective date of such update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
